Eva Abreu is a speaker, writer, radio host, consultant, community volunteer and connector of people+places+things who understands the power and reach of Social Media.
She gives presentations, teaches adult education classes, facilitates monthly discussion groups and has been the featured speaker at association meetings, community group gatherings, and corporate presentations.
Eva writes a weekly business column “Connecting with Social Media” for Gannett’s Home News Tribune, Courier News and myCentralJersey.com and writes a blog for new users of Social Media. She also teaches Social Media to adults ages 50+ at OLLI-Rutgers Continuing Education, Highland Park and Freehold NJ campuses.
She engages her online audience through Social Media networks such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Ryze, hosts a podcast on BlogTalkRadio and produces collaborative videos on YouTube. Eva has been written up in BusinessWeek SmallBiz, the Home News Tribune and Courier News on connections made, both offline and online, through the use of Social Media.
Eva launched NJ Social Media in August 2009 to showcase businesses, non-profits and people in New Jersey using Social Media. She then developed the concept for NJ Social Media Hall of Fame and NJ Social Media Conference to highlight those who have made significant contributions in their use of the tools and technology related to Social Media. She enjoys bringing people together, using her skills as an Organizing Coach to organize local community events, NJ Social Media gatherings such as Twitter TweetUps and F2F (face-to-face) business networking meetings.
She’s the founder of Sort Things Out method of organizing and Eva’s Edict 5 Minutes, teaching the STO method of organizing. Eva was recently filmed for two episodes of TLC/Discovery Channel Hoarding: Buried Alive television show, working with local families affected by hoarding and helping them with the de-cluttering and organizing process. She is Founder and Executive Producer of Eva Abreu Productions LLC, Piscataway NJ, which produces family-friendly community dinner theatre and school productions. During the 1990’s, she worked as a freelance Talent Liaison for live televised award shows in New York City including Night of 100 Stars, Grammy Awards, Tony Awards, ESPY Awards and MTV Music Awards.

round in the entertainment field includes experience as a disc jockey for social events (weddings, parties, and clubs), she opened the first year of dinner theatre production “Joey & Mary’s Irish/Italian Comedy Wedding” in New Jersey / New York City metropolitan area; she was a former DJ on WRSU-FM Rutgers and returns every year on-air for Alumni Day. Eva created the website RocknRollCars.com which discusses rock n’ roll music, classic cars and more.
Eva previously owned a video production company, producing, directing, shooting and editing corporate videos, social events, and local cable TV programs. As a former freelance stage manager and audio-visual technician, Eva traveled across the U.S, staging corporate events, national sales and training meetings, and product launches.
Ms. Abreu is a former technology manager with Credit Suisse First Boston, JPMorgan and AT&T, is a graduate of Rutgers University, a founder of intergenerational programs which bring together seniors and children in the community, and a wife and mom in New Jersey, USA.
